Reichert (SPR) Instruments
For real-time, label-free analysis of biomolecular
interactions
The SR7000DC is a powerful, flexible and affordable SPR
instrument for determining biomolecular interactions. It provides real-time,
label-free, simultaneous monitoring of sample and reference channels and is
useful in proteomics, genomics, and antibody studies. Its modular design is
easily configured to do customized research. Fluidic configurations range from
manual to fully automated with an optional autosampler. It is able to do
kinetic studies of small molecules down to 100 Daltons. Temperatures are
programmable, micro or macro flow cells are available for different surface
work, and flow rates can be run fast or slow.
Listed below are some examples of biomolecular
interactions which have been successfully studied using the Reichert SPR
SR7000DC instrument:
- Peptide/protein - protein
- DNA/RNA - protein
- Protein - cell
- Receptor - cells
- Protein - virus/phage
- Carbohydrate - protein
- Carbohydrate - cell
- Liposome - protein
- Artificial materials - biological matter
- Drugs - protein
- Drugs - DNA/RNA
Typical areas of use include:
- Kinetics (on, off, equilibrium), relative affinity,
sequence recognition
- Concentration determination
- Ligand fishing followed by MALDI
characterization
- Drug discovery - detection of small molecules down
to 100 Da
- Epitope screening and mapping
- Method/assay development
- Electrochemistry-SPR
- Surface chemistry and biomaterial assessment
- Artificial materials - biological matter
- Photochemistry
In addition to biomolecular interaction studies, the
Reichert SR7000DC can be used to quantify adsorption and desorption processes
in non-biological systems or to follow the course of solid phase-based chemical
reactions on the chip surface.
