Sample preparation of pressed pellets in XRF

In X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) pressing samples into pellets is an inexpensive and fast way to prepare a sample. But to successfully analyse pellets, there are a few things to take into consideration. The correct pressure and materials must be used to create a mechanically stable pellet that does not break during analysis. Also, the sample material must be completely homogenised before pressing to make sure that the pellet is stable in all areas. FLUXANA VANEOX® presses are available in models from 15t to 40t pressure. While 15 tons are enough for smaller pellets and samples that have good binding properties, there are cases where 25 or even 40 tons pressure are required to produce a stable pellet. The VANEOX® assortment offers the ideal tools and applications for ever sample.
