Launched in 2018 the New Rigaku Smartlab is a novel high resolution Diffractometer (XRD). The new Smartlab continues to build on the excellent success of the previous version and incorporates a number of new features including the new SmartLab Studio II software that includes the Rigaku intelligent User Guidance software. The software guides the user through the various steps required to perform different experiments.

Designed with superior performance in mind
Available with a standard sealed X-Ray tube or with the new PhotonMax high flux 9kW rotating anode x-ray source. Years of experience working with rotating anodes means the Rigaku system is highly reliable and the PhotonMax anode is now warranted for 3 years (conditions apply). Coupling a high intensity reliable source with a HyPix-3000 high energy resolution 2D multidimensional detector capable of 0D/1D and 2D measurements yields excellent results for all applications without the inconvenience of changing between detectors for various experiments.
The system includes a high-resolution θ/θ closed loop goniometer drive with the option of an in-plane diffraction arm. The new Cross-Beam-Optics (CBO) family feature fully automated switching between transmission and reflection modes (CBO-Auto).
XRD designed for ease of use
The built in User Guidance feature of the new SmartLab Studio II software allows even novice users to achieve excellent results. A user need simply select a type of experiment from a large predefined list and the software will guide the user through the experiment including fully automated hardware and sample alignment. This automated alignment makes switching between hardware configurations exceedingly simple without any expect knowledge required.
The Rigaku SmartLab X-ray Diffractometer is a multifunctional XRD system. It is available as a 3kW sealed tube or 9kW rotating anode x-ray generator.
