Rheology Masterclass: a day of learning open to all users 19th May 2022

SciMed is pleased to announce a Masterclass for Rheological testing which will take place in the SciMed Headquarters in Stockport on the 19^th of May 2022.

This Masterclass will be delivered by both SciMed and Thermo-Haake applications experts and will focus on a wide range of Industrial and Research applications.

The course has been designed so that users of any brand and model of Rheometer can attend and benefit.

Many aspects of Rheology analysis including: Theory (both rotational and oscillatory), Sample Preparation, Method Development will be covered.

Fully operational systems will be used for the training to allow participants to get essential and beneficial “hands on” experience.

This Masterclass will cost £100+VAT (This can be applied as a discount against any SciMed purchase within 2022). Lunch and training certificates will be provided to all attendees.

The program will be finalised shortly and early bird enquiries will be encouraged to provide some input into the content of the program

10:00 Morning Session: Basics of Rheology and Rotational Rheometry

• Theoretical background and measurement of the dynamic shear viscosity
• Yield stress and time-dependent flow behavior
• Demonstration of rotational tests

12:15 – Lunch

13:00 Afternoon Session: Viscosity and Beyond

• Introduction to viscoelasticity, measurements in oscillation
• Dos and Don’ts of rheological testing
  • Understanding sources of error
  • How to select the right geometry
• Lab Session

16:00 Q & A session and close of Masterclass.
