Webinar: AOX (adsorbable organic halogens) in wastewater to comply with ISO 9562

Compliance with ISO 9562 will be introduced to the UK wastewater testing regime in 2022. This standard specifies a method for the direct determination of organically bound chlorine, bromine and iodine (expressed as chloride) adsorbable on activated carbon.

Wednesday 9th June 2021 – 10:00 – 11:00 AM (GMT)

The method that will be presented, is applicable to samples with concentrations of inorganic chloride ions at low levels of less than 1 g/l as well as those with higher concentrations.

This method also applies to samples containing suspended solids where halogens are adsorbed onto the solid matter: these samples require filtration before analysis to allow the separate determination of both the dissolved and particulate-adsorbable organically bound halogens (AOX). Samples with a particularly high inorganic chloride content can be analysed by a modified method utilising SPE (Solid Phase Extraction) before the AOX measurement.

SciMed (through their partnership with Analytik Jena) are able to provide the instrumentation, the applications knowledge and the post-sales service support.

In this webinar we will explore this new methodology, what it means for the UK wastewater industry and how SciMed is best placed to provide your lab with a complete solution.
