Characterisation of Battery Materials and Performance 2019

Thursday 7th November 2019
UCL, London

SciMed are holding a one day technical seminar on techniques used in the field of battery research.  SciMed is a provider of a number of analytical techniques that are fundamental to battery research and as a result we have strong links with many research institutes and battery companies within the UK.  We are delighted to be able to hold a seminar at the Electrochemical Innovation Lab within the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCL.

This seminar will comprise a technical seminar given by a number of academics from around the UK supplemented by talks from ourselves at SciMed.

The following technical seminar will start at 10:30am with registration starting from 10am.

Program:

Applications of thermal analysis & calorimetry for the development & testing of batteries

XRD analysis of battery cells with in situ potentiostat measurements – UCL

Recent developments of XRD for battery material characterisation

SEM as tool in battery material characterisation

Prototyping of Energy Storage Devices: the Essential Bridge Between Lab and Pilot Scale Cell Development – Dr Alexander Roberts, Coventry University

Challenges and Perspectives of Recycling Lithium Ion batteries- Prof. Gary Leeke, Birmingham University

Tour of battery research labs within UCL

Discussions and demonstrations
