The instrument determines flash points of liquid products by the Tag Closed Cup method. The system incorporates stepless variable heat control with reference dial for accurate repeat setting of temperature ramp. The system can be supplied with gas burner instead of electric heater. The precision cover mechanism simultaneously opens the slide shutter and applies the test flame to the sample at the turn of a knob. Included are a liquid bath with constant level overflow, brass test cup, plated brass thermometer ferrules and test flame reference bead. The bath and cover mechanism are constructed of plated brass and the heater is enclosed in a cast aluminium base assembly.
