Introducing the Nex QC II Series:
Benchtop EDXRF for Everyday Quality Control
27th March 2026
SciMed are pleased to announce the NEX QC II Series—compact, benchtop energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) analysers designed for fast, reliable elemental quality control across a wide range of materials, with minimal sample preparation and low operating costs.
Built for everyday industrial QC (including plant floor, manufacturing line, and QC laboratory use), the NEX QC II Series combines an embedded computer, icon-driven touchscreen workflow, and built-in printing/reporting in a small, fanless enclosure—reducing operational complexity and training burden.
Two models—NEX QC II and NEX QC II+—allow teams to match performance to application needs, with the “+” model positioned for improved resolution and light-element performance while maintaining the same operator-friendly workflow.
Introducing the NEX QC II Series EDXRF analyser
How does the NEX QC II Series support industrial quality control?
The Nex QC II Series is a new-generation EDXRF platform built on the established Nex QC family, created specifically for industrial quality control workflows where speed, repeatability, and ease-of-use matter as much as analytical capability.
From a practical implementation standpoint, the design choices are aimed at simplifying deployment in real production environments: a compact, fanless enclosure for harsher areas, plus an integrated computer and printer to streamline at-line use and on-demand reporting.
For labs that require expanded method development and calibration flexibility—particularly where optional compliance tooling is needed—Rigaku also positions the first-generation Nex QC+ QuantEZ option as an alternative model operating via an external PC, with optional features such as SureDI support for 21 CFR Part 11.
Why this matters in practice: for routine QA/QC, the highest-value gains often come from operational simplicity (fewer peripherals, fewer steps, less training) as much as from incremental analytical improvements. The Nex QC II Series is explicitly positioned around that “end-to-end” simplicity—measurement to reporting—in one compact system.
• NEX QC II Series delivers fast, non-destructive multi-element analysis for solids, liquids and powders
• Benchtop EDXRF analyser designed for routine quality control environments
• Low ppm to high wt% detection range across multiple applications
• Minimal sample preparation reduces operator time and variability
• XRF analyser for petroleum analysis including sulfur and metals
• Compact NEX QC II Series design suitable for lab or plant floor
• No expensive consumables, reducing ongoing operating costs
• Intuitive touchscreen interface simplifies training and operation
• Supports ASTM and ISO methods for fuels and materials testing
Key features of the NEX QC II Series EDXRF analyser?
The Nex QC II Series is intended to deliver routine multi-element capability with a workflow that’s easy for non-specialist operators to adopt—supporting faster checks, fewer handoffs, and fewer opportunities for operator error in busy QA/QC settings.
