Our Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility

At SciMed, Corporate Social Responsibility is at the heart of how we operate.

We are committed to supporting local communities, empowering young learners, and contributing to meaningful initiatives that make a positive difference across the UK.

From educational enrichment programmes to hands-on volunteering with local charities, our CSR activities reflect our belief in giving back, fostering opportunity, and helping strengthen the communities we serve.

Inspiring Young Minds Outdoors

Exploring the Peak District

SciMed partnered with local schools to give an entire year group the opportunity to explore the Peak District as part of their art curriculum.

Many children had never visited the area before, despite living just 40 minutes away. With our support, 40 students hiked to a panoramic viewpoint in Hope Valley, where they sketched the landscape and connected with nature through hands-on learning.

This initiative helped broaden their horizons, spark creativity, and encourage a deeper appreciation of the natural world.

Supporting Local Youth

SciMed is committed to supporting local youth development, demonstrated through our involvement with the 1st Handforth Scouts.

As part of this initiative, Director Adam Rucklidge dedicated his time to helping set up a large-scale camp at Linnet Clough, preparing tents for more than 100 participants. The team also supported the Scouts’ community fundraising efforts by delivering plants to local residents.

This hands-on contribution strengthened the group’s activities, encouraged youth engagement, and reinforced SciMed’s commitment to making a positive impact within the community

As part of our commitment to community support, SciMed volunteers joined Birmingham City Mission’s Christmas Toys Link Project, helping prepare and wrap gifts for families facing hardship.

Led by Director Paul Vanden Branden and supported by colleagues across the business, the team spent the day ensuring presents were ready for distribution to children who might otherwise go without.

This initiative strengthened our culture of volunteering and contributed to bringing joy and dignity to families during the festive season.
