Inspiring the Next Generation

Inspiring the Next Generation to Explore the Peak District

At SciMed, we believe in fostering curiosity and expanding horizons for young learners.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment, we partnered with local schools to support a unique educational experience, allowing an entire year group to visit the Peak District as part of their art topic.

Inspiring Young Minds Through Outdoor Learning

OVERVIEW

THE CHALLENGE

Introducing Students to the Beauty of the Peak District

Despite being only 40 minutes away, many children had never visited the Peak District.

This initiative aimed to provide students with an immersive outdoor learning experience, enabling them to sketch, paint, and explore the landscape, broadening their understanding and appreciation of the natural world.

OUR CONTRIBUTION

On-the-Ground Experience and Key Contributor

SciMed provided support that enabled 40 children to walk to a panoramic location in the Peak District, where they sketched the breathtaking scenery and captured the natural beauty as part of their art curriculum.

The students also explored the surrounding environment, deepening their connection to nature and encouraging creativity through firsthand experience.

The initiative was supported by SciMed Product Manager Darren Machen, with teachers and school staff guiding the artistic elements of the day. The visit took place in Hope Valley in October 2024.

THE IMPACT

Our support directly contributed to

Our support directly contributed to 40 children gaining access to an outdoor learning experience, helping them develop a deeper understanding of natural landscapes through sketching and exploration while encouraging them to engage in creative, hands-on education outside the classroom.

Looking Ahead

SciMed is committed to supporting future initiatives that provide young students with enriching learning experiences. By continuing to partner with local schools, we aim to inspire the next generation to connect with the natural environment and develop their creativity.
