Supporting Local Youth

SciMed’s Commitment to Community Engagement

At SciMed, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting local youth development.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, our Director Adam Rucklidge volunteered time to assist the 1st Handforth Scouts.

This initiative involved helping to set up a Scout camp at Linnet Clough and participating in a fundraising effort through a local plant delivery initiative.

THE CHALLENGE

Looking Ahead to the Future

The 1st Handforth Scouts provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, leadership experience, and an appreciation for the outdoors.

However, setting up a large-scale camp and securing funding for activities require substantial volunteer support.

SciMed recognised this challenge and stepped in to help ensure the Scouts had a seamless and successful experience.

OUR CONTRIBUTION

Camp Setup at Linnet Clough

Our Director Adam Rucklidge dedicated half a day to assisting with the setup of 45 tents, ensuring a well-organised and functional campsite for 80 Scouts and 20 leaders.

This effort played a crucial role in creating a comfortable and efficient camping experience for the young participants.

Fundraising Through Community Engagement

The second half of the day was spent delivering plants to local residents, raising vital funds for the Scout Group.

This initiative not only supported the Scouts financially but also strengthened connections between the Scouts and their local community, promoting goodwill and awareness.

THE IMPACT

Our support directly contributed to

Our support directly contributed to the successful setup of a campsite for 100 participants and helped drive a fundraising initiative that supports the Scout Group’s future activities, further strengthening SciMed’s commitment to local youth and community involvement.

Looking Ahead

SciMed remains dedicated to fostering youth development and community engagement. We look forward to future opportunities to support organisations like the 1st Handforth Scouts through hands-on assistance and fundraising initiatives.
