EPR Educational Seminar & Workshop 2026
Hosted by SciMed in partnership with CIQTEK
SciMed Masterclass
Wednesday 21st October 2026
SciMed and CIQTEK invite you to an educational seminar and workshop focused on Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and its growing importance across a wide range of scientific disciplines, including but not limited to chemistry, materials science, energy storage, environmental science, and life science research.
Hosted at Queen Mary University of London within the G.O. Jones Building on the Mile End campus, the event will bring together researchers, scientists, and industry professionals for a full day of scientific exchange and practical insight into the use of EPR in modern research.
The workshop will combine core scientific principles with real-world application, including case studies, user perspectives, and live demonstrations of EPR instrumentation. This will include a live demonstration of the CIQTEK floor-standing X-band EPR system, as well as an overview of the CIQTEK EPR200M benchtop system, highlighting capabilities across both routine and advanced EPR measurements.

Why This Event Matters
EPR is a powerful technique for investigating paramagnetic species, reaction mechanisms, defect structures, and electronic environments that are often inaccessible using other analytical methods.
This workshop is designed to provide a clear and practical understanding of where EPR fits within modern research workflows and how it is being applied in both academic and industrial settings.
Masterclass INSIGHT
Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) is a powerful analytical technique used to investigate materials containing unpaired electrons, providing unique insight into chemical reactions, free radicals, transition metals, defects and paramagnetic species that cannot be obtained using many other analytical methods.
This educational seminar has been designed to introduce both new and experienced users to the capabilities of modern EPR instrumentation, while showcasing how the technique is being applied across a wide range of scientific disciplines.
Throughout the day, attendees will hear from EPR specialists and researchers who are using the technology in real-world applications, alongside opportunities to discuss current challenges, emerging research and practical implementation.
Hosted within one of the UK’s leading EPR research facilities at Queen Mary University of London, the event provides an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge whilst networking with fellow researchers and industry experts.
Attendees will gain insight into:
• Where EPR delivers unique analytical value
• What EPR data looks like in real applications
• How EPR is integrated into wider experimental workflows
• What modern EPR systems can realistically deliver
The final programme is in development and will be confirmed closer to the event. The day will include a structured mix of presentations, application-focused talks, technical discussion, and live demonstrations.
