First UK Installation of the CIQTEK EPR200M Completed at The University of Manchester

SciMed has completed the installation and initial training for a CIQTEK EPR200M benchtop electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer at The University of Manchester.
The installation represents the first EPR200M placement in the UK and brings CIQTEK’s compact X-band EPR platform into a university with a long-established and internationally recognised EPR research environment.
Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR), also known as Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), is a spectroscopic technique used to investigate systems containing unpaired electrons. It can support the study of free radicals, transition metal ions and paramagnetic defects across fields including chemistry, catalysis, materials science, environmental research and the life sciences.
New benchtop X-band EPR installation marks an important milestone for CIQTEK and SciMed in the UK.
A compact route into EPR
The CIQTEK EPR200M is a compact X-band benchtop EPR spectrometer designed for scientific research and industrial applications. Its integrated format, control and data-processing software, and range of available accessories are intended to make routine EPR experiments approachable while supporting varied experimental needs.
Available options include variable-temperature measurement, automated goniometry and in-situ optical stimulation. This flexibility allows laboratories to configure the platform for different samples, application areas and research questions.
Installed in an established EPR environment
The University of Manchester hosts the EPSRC National Research Facility for Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. Its EPR facilities are available to academic and industrial users and support a wide range of continuous-wave and pulsed EPR experiments. The new EPR200M installation adds a CIQTEK benchtop platform to this broader scientific environment.
