Flash point

The flash point of a material is the lowest temperature at which the vapours ignite when presented with an ignition source. SciMed offers a comprehensive range of Flash Point Testers from Koehler Instrument company. Koehler have been manufacturing petroleum testing equipment since 1925 and are key members of several ASTM committees. They are responsible for many of the improvements in petroleum test methods through innovative design solutions. The range of Flash Point Testers provide a solution to every requirement from simple flash test to comprehensive determination of flash point, fire point and ignition point.

The system incorporates stepless variable heat control with reference dial for accurate repeat setting of temperature ramp. The system can be supplied with gas burner instead of electric heater. The precision cover mechanism simultaneously opens the slide shutter and applies the test flame to the sample at the turn of a knob. Included are a liquid bath with constant level overflow, brass test cup, plated brass thermometer ferrules and test flame reference bead.  The bath and cover mechanism are constructed of plated brass and the heater…

Pensky-Martens Closed Cup Flash Tester

The Pensky-Martens Closed Cup Flash Tester determines flash points of a wide range of products by a closed cup method with two option speed stirring of the sample. The method is extensively used in shipping and safety regulations for detection of contamination by volatile and flammable materials in fuel oils and lubricating oils, and for characterization of hazardous waste samples.  The operating cover mechanism slides the shutter open and applies the test flame at the turn of a knob.  The electrically heated model is equipped with a 1000W nickel-chromium heater with stepless variable control for accurate, repeatable temperature ramps. The…

Rapid Flash Tester, Open Cup (Setaflash)

The Rapid Tester® provides rapid determinations of flash point or sustained burning qualities by using a small sample. A flash/no flash test result is achieved in one minute for flash points below 212°F (100°C) with only a 2mL sample.  This method is ideally suited for quality assurance and environmental compliance testing as well as actual flash point for paints, fragrances, hydrocarbons and other liquids. Open cup models are used for determining sustained burning qualities characteristics of mixtures of flammable and non-flammable liquids.  The instrument features convenient semi-automatic operation for flash/no flash tests. Simply set the test temperature on the digital…

Automatic Microscale Vapour Pressure Analyser

The K24870 Microscale Vapor Pressure Analyzer is a top-of-the-line solution for determining the vapor pressure of air-containing, volatile, liquid petroleum products, including automotive spark-ignition fuels with or without oxygenates. The design of the analyzer is based on the Triple-Expansion Principle for vapor pressure determination. The sample of known volume is injected into a temperature-controlled measuring chamber with a piston, which is then sealed. The volume of the sample is expanded in three steps and the total pressure after every expansion step is measured to calculate the vapor pressure of the sample. The K24870 Microscale Vapor Pressure Analyzer conforms to ASTM…

Automatic Microscale Continuously Closed Cup Flash Point Analyser

The Koehler K24880 Microscale Continuously Closed Cup Flash Point Analyzer is a top-of-the-line solution for determining the flash point of fuel oils, lube oils, solvents, and other liquids. Flash point is an important indicator for evaluating a material’s combustion tendency, as well as for transport and safety regulations. This analyzer is fully automatic, providing automatic determination of flash points and corrections for ambient atmospheric pressure. With a small sample size requirement of just 1 mL or 2 mL, the Koehler K24880 Microscale Continuously Closed Cup Flash Point Analyzer demands less sample, resulting in lower test costs and less pollution. Its…
