The K24875 Automatic Vapour Pressure Analyser is an automated instrument to determine vapour pressure of volatile petroleum products. Vapour pressure is a common test for fuels, specifically gasolines, as it is an important specification for transportation and storage of fuels. The instrument conforms to ASTM D5188, D5191 and D6378.
ASTM 5188 is the Standard Test Method for Vapor-Liquid Ratio Temperature Determination of Fuels (Evacuated Chamber and Piston Method).

K24875 RVP Pro Benchtop Automatic Vapour Pressure Analyser
The K24875 RVP Pro is a benchtop instrument with one-button operation making it ideal for the busy lab. The sample is injected into the sample chamber (nickel-plated aluminium) and is either cooled or heated with the Peltier thermoelectric device.
The instrument contains a high-resolution pressure transducer which continuously monitors and compensates for any variations in pressure, covering a 0-1000 kPa range. All operation is via the integrated colour touchscreen.

About the Product - K24875 RVP Pro Benchtop Automatic Vapour Pressure Analyser
The RVP Pro is ideal for testing liquid petroleum products with boiling points above 0°C which exert a vapour pressure between 7 and 150 kPa at 37.8°C at a vapour-to-liquid ratio of 4:1. It can also be used for testing volatile, liquid chemical samples with temperatures between 0 – 120°C at a vapor-to-liquid ratio between 4:1 and 0.02:1
The RVP-Pro is fully automatic meaning that users require little training. The measuring method is selected and when completed the corresponding result will appear on the screen.
Small sample size required – 1ml of sample is required for the test and 2.5 ml for each rinse to avoid contamination.
Industrial Touchscreen User Interface with an 8” Colour Touchscreen is built-in and offers password protection and has 3 user levels.
USB & Network Connections include an RS232 interface for connection to a thermal printer; a USB interface for connection with mouse/keyboard or storage device plus an Internet (Ethernet) line for connection to a LIMS system.

RVP Pro Software
The main screen shows the options available. Users can log in with their username and password. There are 3 levels, Admin, Service and User.
Once the user security is checked and saved, the test method is selected (according to test method permissions for the Operator), Sample ID is entered and an operator must be logged to enable the ‘RUN’ button to begin the test.
User Menu
The USER menu allows quick access to user parameters that are commonly changed, between users:
- A slide bar is used to adjust the system volume, which applies to alarms that can be set to sound after a measurement has completed or if an error has occurred during the measurement (check boxes).
- The number of rinse cycles may be selected, between 1 and 9 rinses, from a pulldown menu. The default number of rinse cycles is 3, which works well for most applications. Increasing the number of rinsing cycles will help alleviate sample carryover impact on results, between drastically different sample types.
- A checkbox may be selected to enable the automatic printing of results after completion of each test measurement. To save changes made to parameters in the USER menu, press Save.
Method Menu – The method menu is accessed via the Setup tab and allows the method to be selected and various Formula and Parameters to be entered as required.

Memory
Pressing the ‘Memory’ button on the main screen opens a menu where measurement results can be viewed, deleted, printed, and transferred (LIMS, USB pen drive):
