Koehler Instruments for Fuels Testing

Discover petroleum testing instruments from Koehler.

Products Overview

Koehler Instruments provide a wide range of petroleum and fuels testing solutions designed to support quality control, compliance testing, and research across refinery, petrochemical, aviation fuel, lubricant, and fuels laboratories. The instruments featured on this page cover a variety of ASTM and IP test methods, including corrosion testing, fuel lubricity evaluation, hydrocarbon composition analysis, and carbon residue determination. Together, these systems help laboratories improve testing accuracy, repeatability, and operational efficiency while ensuring reliable characterisation of petroleum products and fuel performance.

The K643 Series Copper Strip Corrosion - Pressure Vessel Baths

The K643 Series Copper Strip Corrosion – Pressure Vessel Baths are used for the Corrosiveness to Copper from Petroleum Products by Copper Strip Test. The baths comply with ASTM D130, D4048 and IP 154.

The Copper Strip Tarnish Test assesses the relative degree of corrosivity of petroleum products which include aviation fuels, automotive gasoline, natural gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, distillate fuel oil and other products.

The test is simple to perform – a polished copper strip is immersed in 30mL of sample at elevated temperature inside a stainless steel pressure vessel for aviation fuels and natural gasoline, and inside a test tube for other samples. After the test period, the strip is examined for evidence of corrosion.

There are options for 4 and 8 test pressure bombs and 20 test tubes.
