Product Overview - The Koehler Oxidation Baths K64290 and K12219
The Koehler Oxidation Baths K64290 and K12219 evaluate oxidation stability by subjecting the sample to 95°C in the presence of oxygen or dry air or, for inhibited mineral oils, reacted with oxygen in the presence of water and an iron-copper catalyst.
The baths conform to ASTM D943, D2274, D4310, and related specifications.
ASTM D943 is also called the Turbine Oil Stability Test (TOST) and is a method used to determine the oxidation lifetime of inhibited oils.
ASTM D2274 for middle distillate fuels such as diesel and No 2 Fuel Oil.
ASTM D4310 evaluates the tendency of mineral oil based lubricants to form sludge and corrode copper and iron under oxidative conditions.
Both the 8 and 12 place baths are constant temperature baths with solid state temperature control, calibrated flowmeters and condenser water manifold and can be used for both fuels and lubricants.
Each oxidation cell can deliver an air flow at the rate of 3L/h using the individual flowmeters and control valves for each cell.

Product Overview - The K64190 Oxidation Stability Bath
The K64190 Oxidation Stability Bath for Mineral Insulating Oils determines oxidation stability of mineral transformer oils by measuring the amount of sludge and acid formed under prescribed accelerated aging conditions.
The bath conforms to ASTM D2440 and related specifications and has the capacity for 6 samples. It also has a digital temperature control with digital display and over-temperature cut-off. The test involves the immersion of six oil receptacles at the required depth at 110°C ± 0.5°C.
Oxygen flow to each sample is controlled at 1L/h ± 0.1L/h through six independent flowmeters which are mounted on a common manifold.

Product Overview - Koehler Oxidation Stability Apparatus (Cigre Bath)
Koehler Oxidation Stability Apparatus (Cigre Bath) Conforms to the specifications of IP 48, IP 280, IP 306, IP 307 and IP 335 and is a constant temperature aluminium block type bath designed for oxidation stability tests in accordance with the Institute of Petroleum (IP) testing methods.
The bath is a constant temperature aluminium block type bath for oxidation stability tests in accordance with the Institute of Petroleum (IP) testing methods. It can accommodate twelve sets of oxidation and absorption tubes.
The insulated block bath operates efficiently at temperatures of up to 200°C and the microprocessor PID control provides quick temperature stabilisation without overshoot. Additionally, the bath is protected by an over-temperature control circuit that interrupts power should the block temperature exceed a programmed cut-off point.
The dual LED displays provide actual and setpoint temperature values in °C/°F format. Communications software (RS232, etc.), ramp-to-set and other enhanced features are available as optional extras.
A bank of twelve flowmeters on a movable stand regulates oxygen flow at 1 ±0.1L/h to each oil sample per IP specifications. Also included is a soap bubble flowmeter to check oxygen flow rates.

The bath has a 12 sample testing capacity and microprocessor programmable high accuracy temperature control. It has a temperature range of 80 to 200°C with a uniformity of ±0.2°C.
The airflow control is 1L/h to each sample for the standard model and 15L/h to each sample for the IP 48 Model.
