About Koehler K60092 Automatic Heated Oil Test Centrifuge
How Does the Automatic Oil Test Centrifuge Work?
This fully automatic bench top centrifuge has been designed for petroleum testing applications. The integrated touch screen can be used to set the temperature, duration of the test, RCF/RPM values and also allows the user to choose the type of rotor assembly and corresponding glassware that will be used during the test.
The RPM is automatically calculated from the given RCF and the type of rotor selected. The large, clear, top opening lid allows easy access to the rotor and tube holders.
The lid has a large viewing window allowing the operator to see inside the chamber to check the status of the rotor and for possible spillage from the centrifuge tubes. Moulded PTFE cushions provide protection and easy positioning of the tubes.
Safety Features and Nitrogen Purge System
The Centrifuge comes equipped with a safety lockout mechanism. If there is an emergency shutdown, the lid is locked and cannot be unlocked until the unit comes to a complete stop and is turned back on, and the stop/unlock key is pressed on the touch screen display.
Furthermore, the centrifuge cannot start while the lid is open and the latch is not engaged. These features protect the users from injury during operation of the centrifuge.
The “Nitrogen Purge” feature allows a slow release of nitrogen into the bowl of the centrifuge and requires an external nitrogen gas source which can easily connect to an inlet port located at the back of the unit.
In summary, the Automatic Heated Oil Test Centrifuge is an easy to operate and safe option for determining sediment and water content in crude oil, fuel oils, middle distillate fuels, and biodiesel.
The Koehler K60092 centrifuge provides automated, standards compliant testing for accurate sediment and water measurement in petroleum samples.
